Reliable Finnish metal products
At the beginning of this century all fire fighting equipment was imported to Finland. Many problems were caused by the poor availability of spare parts and the high price. These problems were solved by MAKO Osakeyhtiö, established in 1920. MAKO started to manufacture fire fighting equipment and very quickly reached the status of a realiable manufacturer. In 1952 the company acquired Oy Veljekset Kulmala Ab, a company specialized in fire fighting, and the production programme was appreciably expanded. In the 1920s MAKO started to manufacture water pumps as well. Electrically operated MAKO water ring pumps became a brand name familiar to every farmer. Industrial valves have been on our production programme since 1940. Today MAKO is a producer as well as an importer. The production programme is divided into three sections: fire fighting products (fire service equipment), fluid transfusion products (pumps) and flow control products (valves). FOR FIRE FIGHTING Extinguishers
The selection of MAKO extinguishers is the widest in Finland: from 2 kg to 12 kg. Finnish defense forces and many industrial establishments use MAKO special extinguishers. We have many TURVA extinguisher service stations for MAKO extinguishers in different parts of Finland. Fire protection systems
MAKO fire protection systems consist of automatic fire detection and gas extinguishing systems. With these systems reliable and fast fire detection and extinguishing can be guaranteed. Fire detection systems are suitable for protecting different areas in industrial, office and hospital establishments. Extinguishing systems are meant to protect e.g. ADP, telephone, electric and product lines in such establishments. FOR FLUID TRANSFUSION Domestic water pumps
MAKO pumps are durable and the construction is simple. Easy servicing and a small demand for spare parts have been taken into consideration. Industrial pumps
Normi Mako VPM pumps are suitable for pure liquids with sensitive motion, such as hot and cold water, sea water and oil. The maximum output of VPM pumps is around 500 m3/h and the maximum delivery lift is about 130 m.
Thanks to the construction and wire material selection Normi Mako KPM pumps are suitable also for corrosive liquids with heavy motion. The maximum output is about 700 m3/h and the maximum delivery lift is around 150 m. Sarja-Mako SPL pumps constitute a new pump series for cold and hot liquids offering diversified operating possibilities. The maximum output of SPL pumps is 60 m3/h and the maximum delivery lift is about 300 m3/h. The pump parts in contact with liquid are made of plastic and red brass. FOR FLOW CONTROL Valves
The MAKO valve selection consists of valves for industry, municipal engineering, power plants, etc. MAKO is specialized mostly in different kinds of closing valves, safety and pressure control valves and small valves.
